Adelaide Festival Centre power failure hits two major dance productions

Another reminder why it is so important to have good emergency procedures for all events and all venues.

Always make sure the venue has a full, detailed emergency plan, including evacuations in the dark, and that their staff is trained in executing it.
Make sure all your staff understand the procedures and can assist in a quick response.  And check that all the emergency lighting systems are maintained and work for the minimum required time of 90 minutes.

From the Advertiser article:

Adelaide Festival Centre CEO Douglas Gautier said safety had been a priority.
“Our backup generators powered essential lighting enabling us to escort patrons and artists to exits in an orderly manner,” he said.
“We understand how disappointing the interruption to these performances was for our audiences and encourage ticket holders with concerns to contact us directly,” Mr Gautier said.
